I stayed at Le Roi hotel on july 19th with my boyfriend who is indian. I'm from Spain and I was in the middle of my North India trip when I had to go to Europe for 10 days to sort out something so I decided I will spend 2 days in Delhi to meet my boyfriend before my flight.
Since my flight was on 21st morning, we booked Hotel Le Roi on 19th and an airport hotel on 20th. We arrived a bit late on 19th because I was coming on an evening bus from Chandigarh although my boyfriend had checked in early in the afternoon and had informed the hotel that the 2nd guest his girlfriend will come at night with him. So when we arrived at night it was my time to check in together with my bf. So we sat in front of the reception guy, nice table and big, clean reception.
The reception guy takes my passport, then he starts asking my bf questions about me: -Who is she? How is she related to you? Apparently he thought I'm a foreign prostitute or something. Obviously he didn't say it all loud but it was obvious by his questions and the way he was looking at me. But his thinking is not the worse But his thinking is not the worse thing, the worse thing was that he was asking questions about me only, but he asked it all to my boyfriend, and to make things worse, he asked in hindi.
Now, it was clear that I speak perfect English. So why couldn't he ask me to my face? Felt extremetly discriminated because of the reasons above. Providing our guest with the best hospitality and services has always been our mission. The matter explained by you is absolutely very concerning, however have checked with the concerned and found that you had misunderstood the entire conversation because few question like, What is the relation of the Guests, from where the Guests are coming, date of arrival in India etc are all those questions which we had to mandatory specified while assigning a room to a guest and in that case being a foreigner lady sharing a room with an Indian boy they only asked for the safety point of view.
The reason why the receptionist had not spoken to the lady - we had investigated our CCTV, the receptionist had tried his level best to make the lady understand but he fails to do so.
